The Performing Troupes
Similar in style to “Whose Line is it Anyway,” the National Comedy Theatre is a high octane comedy show featuring the Valley’s best improv comedians performing a series of games and scenes all based on audience suggestions.
Mail Order Bride
Mail Order Bride is comprised of improvisors from a wide array of backgrounds who have been lovingly handpicked for your viewing pleasure and maximum enjoyment. Their shows are everything you’d want in a catalog-chosen companion – scenes that are smart, funny and touching. Mail Order Bride gives you traditional longform peppered with shows inspired by themes – one example is their summertime White Trash Pool Parties. They are rich with characters and explore a full gamut of relationships that relate to the human experience. MOB was formed in Oct. of 2006.
Chaos Comedy is a family-friendly improvisation troupe from North Phoenix / Scottsdale that handles its short form games with a great deal of long form sensibility. Founded in late 2008 within the nurturing environment of the Dearing Acting Studio, Chaos Comedy has crafted its identity as a troupe that uses a special mixture of bold energy, endearing sweetness, and natural comedic talent to create interesting and authentic pieces of improvisational art for its audiences to enjoy. Whether its emotional depth or physical slapstick, the talented artists of Chaos Comedy can and will amaze you!
Unicorn Warpath is a mixed blessing of longform improvisers who perform at The Torch Theatre. Our backgrounds, expertise, and interests are amazingly diverse for partially-realized, mostly female adult-like people. Valiantly glittery (glitterly valiant?), we are serious about our play!
From the racially confused land of Phoenix, AZ come Los Subtitulos. We combine telenovela aspects and long-form improv to create a show intended for both English and Spanish speakers. Los Subtitulos are always prepared to push boundaries and shed some light on cultural relations. A bilingual show that needs no translations, two languages come together in fast-paced comedy, drama and madness to manifest as a theatrical Rossetta Stone.
